The hedgehog hides beneath the rotten hedge and makes a great round nest of grass and sedge, or in a bush or hollow tree.  There are seventeen species of hedgehog!  All species of hedgehogs can roll into a tight ball in self-defense, causing all of the spines to point outwards.[5] The hedgehog's back contains two large muscles that control the position of the quills. When the creature is rolled into a ball, the quills on the back protect the tucked face, feet, and belly, which are not quilled.

This lovely creature is designed and sculpted in England by Matt Buckley at his studios in Shropshire, Edge Sculpture is a collection influenced by style rather than subject. The mix of form, light and texture gives a unique feel to each stunning sculpture.  Made from Stone/Resin, Hand Painted & Signed by the artist.
